Shadowsoul chuckled when she fell onto her back. She applauded, nd wondered what China was. It sounded familiar... but she would need a map to find out exactly what and where it was. She vaugley remembered that it was near Japan, and nodded slightly.
She laughed at her imitation of the fly and gun, and pretended to be horrified. "Oh no! Are you ok?!" she sad with a laugh. "Nasty fly!" she said, tail wagging like a dog's tail now. She giggled and was glad to be having a great time.
She eagerly watched the immitation for the zombie, laughing hard. "Brains?! That is a weird craving..." she said. IT was kind of like how Vampire craved blood. That was one secret fear she had; a foriener who was a Vampire had been able to actually catch her, and she had lost some of her blood. she shivered, but threw the thought away soon.
"Amazons? Sounds interesting too.... Self absorbed, huh? Reminds me of your master for some reason..." she said with a small laugh and a frown after. Then at the suggestion, she jumped to her feet. "Sure!" she said with a smile.
She got to the ground on all fours and thought for a moment. "Ooh! I know! I heard of a three headed dog named Cerberus; Imagine I have two mre heads." she said, and thred her head back and forth, baring her fox teeth and growling, tail lashing and eyes red. She scratched the ground and started to bark like a dog, but highter pitched. "How's this?" she asked with a smile.

Tila laughed heartily at Shadowsoul's attempt, clapping.
"Good-good ! Just-like-that ! Me-met-that-doggie-once, sooo-nasty ! Chased-me-and-master-through-a-looong-cave ! But-whined-as-soon-as-it... or-was-it-'they' ? No-matter... saw-daylight, run-whimpering ! So-funny !"
Tila stood up, coughing softly, clearing her throat after her laughter.
"Now, let-us-try-something-veeery-hard ! Imitate-master-Gavron !"
Before she could interrupt her, Tila stood as tall as she could on her legs, pretended she was setting her 'clothing' right, then deepened her voice as much as she could, and started walking with long, theatrical steps:
"Me-is-Inquisitor-Gavron-Alexander ! Tremble-demons ! My-speeches-are-annoying-and-will-shatter-your-sanity !" - she pretended she swung an invisible sword. - "Haaa ! Me-act-like-a-douchebag-because-it-is-in-my-job-description-to-do-so ! Now-hold-right-there !" - she swung her 'sword' again. - "How-dare-you-have-more-filthier-hair-than-me, heathen ?! God-strike-me-down-if-me-is-not-ridiculous-enough-yet !"
She then pretended getting smashed to the floor by an unseen force, finally adding: "Ouch..."
Tila got back to her feet, chukling at her performance.
"Come-on, will-you-not-try-it ?! It-is-good-for-you !" - she tempted her.

Shadowsoul nodded. "That dog sounds cool to meet! I bet I could talk to it if I wanted..." she said with a huge smile. This was fun! She beamed at the praise, having an awesome time at this.
She widened her eyes at the suggestion; oh wow; this would be too much fun! She giggled at the thought and awaited Tila's immitation of it.
When Tila was finished, Shadowsoul clapped loudly and cracked up, aill rapidly wagging now. She was laughing so hard, tears felll down her cheeks. Now it was mandatory that she tried it too!
"Alrighty! Watch this!" She drew her face into a scowl and straitened up, narrowing her eyes cruelly. "Ok. So, I go around torturing innocent demons cause I wanna be awesome and stuff. I also beat them down and pretend to kill them, and then start insulting them and swearing at them. That is how I get pleasure in life, living off of the misery of others. but if I get hurt, I go down and cry like a looser. Man, I wanna murder that fox demon; I will as soon as I am done with her..." She finished, cracking up again.

Tila was not as much impressed as Shadowsoul wanted her to be.
"Shandra, this-not-exactly-what-me-had-in-mind..."
"But it was about halfway accurate." - a deep male voice declared.
Suddenly time froze for a brief moment.
Gavron just got back to the palace with the guard captain, hurrying towards the treasury, and as he passed through the corridors he couldn't help but overhear Tila and Shadowsoul. The girls were so occupied with their act that they didn't pay attention to bypassing footsteps. Whoops.
But Gavron appeared smiling rather than acting pissed off. He heard accusations like Shadowsoul's thousands of times, why should he be angry at them ? He often felt some relief when Tila tried making up for his rash behavior. Even if he is hated, at least his 'pet' is always welcome by others.
"Carry on, ladies." - he concluded as he took his leave.
"We-he-ell..." - Tila chuckled in her confusion and embarrassment - "The-posing-was-good, though". - she said to the fox-girl.

Shadowsoul looked up in surprise, not expecting him to be there. HEr cheeks grew hot as she turned away, ears flat. "Hmph." was all she said in a small growl. She did not want to look at him anymore anyways.
When he left, she stuck her tounge out in the direction he was. She turned to Tila. "Well, I guess I can't be as accurate seeing I have not been with him as much as you have Thank god... anyways, How did you two meet?" she asked curiously now, flicking her ears.
She wondered how he or Tila would immitate her; she could ask later, when they settled down. She wondered how she would immitate Tila. She tilted her head; it would be fun to immitate each other! She pushed the thought away, thinking of how it would be better without Gavron there anyways. She sighed; he acted so much older then her, and in reality, he was a lot more mature and older.
She still could act irrational though; she did not like growing up. Especially without her parents... She missed them so much. She never had someone to look up to, and she wished she did. She thought of how Gavron treated Tila, and was jelous. He seemed gentle with her, and such... She pushed the thought away again, trying desperatly to think of something besides him and her parents.

Tila tried to get her act together, and to do so she decided to curl up into a furry ball and rolled around for a bit. When she felt dizzy enough, she un-curled and shook her head, shaking off her bad thoughts.
"Oooh, how-he-and-me-met ?" - she asked back - "That-is-something-to-be-remembered-for-all-me-life ! Drama ! Humor ! Tension ! So-weird-it-is-actually-real ! Come, me-tell-you... but-not-here ! This-story-is-private ! We-go-where-no-one-hears ! Like-a-cave. Do-you-know-caves-nearby ?"
Hm.
Tila seemed serious about the 'privacy'. Probably she didn't want either Gavron or any bypassing guards or servants to hear. What to do...

Shadowsoul nodded. "I understand. Perhaps if you coem to my cave...?" she suggested, glancing around. She swished her tail, eager to go home and rest anyways. It would be better with company, and make her feel less lonley. She let out a yawn, tired slightly. It would be private there; no normal human could sneak in without being heard.
She stood up, ready to go. She was still thinking of her parents and Gavron, trying to get it out of her head. She looked at her feet, angry with herself. She wanted to throw such thoughts away. He insulted her and wanted to kill her. But yet, he did not kill her.. why? He must have done many missions without the help of demons. He could have figured a way without her.
She hated this debate and questioning in her mind. IT was easy to simply hate him before for what he had done, but in ruth, he let her survive and was helping her save the village. She growled at how irrational she was being. He was dangerous, not to be trusted; a demon killer, one who could and probably would end her life. She shook her head, just wanting to leave now.

Tila nodded. - "Sounding-good-to-me, Shandra ! Me-just-hop-up-and-off-we-go !" - and so she climbed up to Shadowsoul's left shoulder, signaling: ready to go.
While leaving the palace, they saw Gavron and the captain of the guards walking off with a couple of muskets. They were treasured pieces of the lord's weapon collection, never actually used in combat, but now they will be put to use soon. Shadowsoul heard bits of the two men's dialogue as they walked off:
"...and fit some silver to their end. Some breeds are allergic to it. Then an hour or so before nightfall, I'll use these wards to..." - Gavron explained his plans to the captain, who listened with great interest.
"Meh, men, planning-nonsense-day-and-night." - Tila yawned a little. - "We-go, then ?"

Shadowsoul began to run down the halls with Tila on her sholder. The monkey demon was a light one indeed. Shadowsoul sped up, reaching the entrance to the palace. As she passed, she heard the men speaking. Silver... breeds, wards... They were talking about demons. She gulped, hoping they were not referring to canine breeds; meaning her. She shook the thought away and ran onward, sighing.
"I agree..." murmered Shadowsoul in reply to Tila. She reached her cave and collasped onto her bed with a sigh, glad to finally be home. She was lucky she did not fall asleep right then and there.

Tila jumped off her, kneeling down a bit further away.
"Comfortable-cave. You-live-here, yes ? Homely, homely ! - Tila said as she glared around with interest. She was somehow very fond of the inside of Shadowsoul's personal lair. But then she realized just how tired her new friend is, and focused on her now.
"Poor-Shandra, this-day-was-long-and-hard. Here, relax. Me-tell-you-story. A-nice-tale-with-happy-ending ! One-moment, though..."
What Shadowsoul perceived was a poof of blue smoke and dust. It slightly irritated her nose and eye, but was harmless otherwise. But the next time she opened her eyes, she had to open them wide:
In Tila's place, now there sat a young, dark-brown skinned girl with curly black hair, her blue eyes shining with life joy and kindness. She appeared no older than 14, maybe 15. Beside some blue-colored rags, she did not wear much.clothing.
"Much better for talking !" - she declared. - "No need to glare, my kin are shapeshifters. Monkey and human form ! Practical, yep ?"
Practical indeed. Her transformation was nigh perfect, her already insignificant demonic aura was now nigh impossible to detect; she looked, smelled and appeared really like a simple human girl.
"Well... now we're past that... shall I begin my tale, Shandra ?"

Shadowsoul was indeed happy with her cave; she was glad Tila was too. She sighed in happiness, relaxicng even more and feeling the bliss of letting go for a while now. The pain was starting to fade. She glanced at her burns and frowned; they looked like nothing, but they were very bad. She had a tendency to heal fast on her uper layer, but it was still there below her skin, and it indeed hurt. Luckily, the pain was leaving.
She glanced up as the dust surrounded her. She twitched her nose and blinked several times, surprised. When she saw Tila as a human, she was confused for a second. How did this human get here? Where did her monkey demon friend go? She flicked an ear and lictened to the girl, finally getting it.
"Wow that's gool! That is an uncanny transformation; no animal parts!" she said, nodding. It must be easy to fit in when she was like that. Saphire adored her ears and tail, however; she rubbed her tail against her cheek to emphasis this. She gave a smile. Tila looked like her now, except not like an animal demon and having darker skin. They looked the same age Shadowsoul was happy about that.
Hearing her question, she nodded. "Sure!" she siad with a smile, eager now.

Tila smiled and softly petted Shadowsoul's head.
"Good big sister !" - she chuckled, then cleared her throat. - "Well then: once upon a time, in the distant land of Africa, there was a tribe of humans and monkey-kin living together in peace, isolated from the world. But as decades came and went, trading became profitable, and people from far away lands came to visit on occasions."
She slightly sighted at this part. - "Unfortunately, so did their diseases. Many strange illnesses we have never seen beforehand. Very difficult to cure, or downright impossible. And often, deadly." - she appeared sad for a moment, thinking of those she had seen dying. - "My own father almost died from one of them... 'Black Death', that disease was named... But one day, our salvation arrived: sailors from the distant north, among them, master Gavron, freshly appointed to his station as Inquisitor. He and his helpers were familiar with the diseases, and helped our community to recover from them, including my daddy !" - she said joyfully. - "And then-"
She fell silent for a few seconds.
"Well... that's where the story gets odd... my father was so impressed and thankful that he decided to gift Gavron with his greatest treasure. Which happened to be me, being princess of the tribe. But Gavron misunderstood it altogether. I have to add, my dad was in human form, while me in monkey form and could hardly transform or speak back then, and Gavron did not speak out language well. So when he saw me, a red mist descended on his mind, declaring... how did he say it ? Oh right: 'Your pagan deities are false and powerless !', and he was determined to prove it by trying to kill me. But hehehe, I was waaay faster ! Can you follow so far ?"

Shadowsoul listened intently to her story. She smiled when she was called Big sister; it seemed like a very nice compliment. She felt less lonley by the second, smile getting brighter and such. Well, that was a good thing about Gavron; he gave her a new friend. She had to be greatful for that. She swished her tail, happy to be talking about this now. It was very interesting to learn, that was for sure.
She gasped at the forein diseases and shook her head, sad. That was terrible! The sad truth made her upset at times. She was relieved her father survived, but then was baffled that he would give away his own daughter. She voice this quietly. "Why would your dad give you away to soe strange man?" she asked in question. She sighed, feeling sad again for her friend.
She chuckled slightly. "It seems that all of our stories start with him trying to kill us. But you were too fast; lucky. I could have been, but I foolishly stood my ground out of anger; an action I will not do again!" she said with a nod. She awaited more to the story, knowing that there was more to be said.

"I'll explain about my father's decision soon." - Tila said - "And yeah, you're right, when it comes to good-natured demons master Gavron has a habit of starting relationships with them by trying to kill them first." - Tila sighted. - "But he's a demon hunter to begin with, so I suppose it can't be helped..."
Tila knew Gavron was careful in combat and planning ahead, but rash and impolite in social situations. As an inquisitor he was trained to achieve success in as short time as possible, so he rather tolerated being seen as a barbarian so long as he could complete his mission and deal with the mistakes he made afterwards.
"Anyway," - Tila tried to continue - "Let's get back to our bedtime story. I, for one, found out that running from Gavron was a pretty effective method to survive, but as you could tell, I was pretty frightened. I ran out of the village to a nearby dense shrubbery, and accidently transformed there to my human form... but I was unable to change back, and got tangled up by the vines and branches, I was terrified ! Gavron caught up and... hehehe... he looks sooo funny when he's confused ! He didn't know it was me in the shrubbery, so after some hesitation, he carefully un-tangled and lifted me out. He can be very gentle with his hands if he wants. I figured he may be just allergic to monkey fur or something, so I wasn't afraid of him anymore. He then asked me if I didn't see a monkey nearby..."
She could barely hold her laughted back. - "I answered: 'Yes, I see one big monkey right here !' and then I glomped him with all my might and he fell to his back, and that face he had... priceless, I tell you !" - she laughed loudly out now. As soon as she could recollect herself, she continued, wiping off a tear of joy from her face. - "And then my father followed after us, and... he said: 'Well, it seems the two monkeys found each other !'; Gavron then realized what exactly happened, but he was too embarrassed to try chasing me again, instead he asked my dad how he could identify shape-shifters like me. Father said: 'By smell. Or, if you're human, just keep in mind this: only the monkey-kin have such bright blue eyes." - Tila leaned closer - "And the best part is: Gavron realized only then that my dad had blue eyes like me ! He was also monkey-kin ! He healed a monkey demon from the Black Death ! I don't know exactly what master Gavron muttered to himself upon this realization but I suppose they were swear words. Lots of them."
Tila seemed to be daydreaming, nostalgic.
"See, in my tribe, humans and monkey-kin lived together for many generations; we we respected, and my family was the royalty there ! Seeing this, Gavron felt it pointless to stay there and try to convert us to his religion. I think he felt he just shouldn't bother us with such things since we already lived in harmony. Our little adventure could have ended right there, but then a third party stepped in... are you paying attention, Shadnra ?"

Shadowsoul listened intently. She tilted her head in surprise. "He indeed is a demon hunter. So why did he not kill you as soon as he found out you were a demon? Or kill me, for that matter; he had a perfect chance to, and the village could have lived with it... I thought all demon hunters murdered demons reguardless; sure, he did insult me and stuff, but still..." she pondered this, wondering why he refrained from doing so. She would not have killed him, of course, because that was not her way to go and she hadn't known his nature at that point. Even now, she would not kil him if she could because he was not evil, it seemed.
She listened somemore. She gulped when she heard that Tila became entangled, because it could have been fatal. She knew that if she had fell into a bush and could not run, she would be powerless. All of her attacks were ranged or illusion, and he could come up close and kill her if she was down. She shivered at the thought of being powerless, like she had been before and probably was now. Although, she could still use some of her magic at this point after her resting for a while.
After the second part of the story, she sniffed, smelling a slight hint of Monkey demon on her. She nodded, now able to tell. "I see... Well, I can smell it with my fox nose..." and it did not smell bad, just like the scent of trees and the forest, along with monkey fur. Some animals did smell bad; mainly ones of the large animal variety, like cows for example. She flicked an ear, listening to the last part.
"Third party... I see... Hmm...Sorta like now; coincidence. Wow... Yeah, of course I am listening... this is so interesting!" she said. In her mind, she was still pondering why the demon hunter did not just do away with her, or other demons like she thought they did.
