Okay, this site is new to me and so there are a couple of questions I need to ask. Nothing particularly big but some may be important factors in an RP.
1. Can we drag Canon characters into adventures as "secondary characters" ?
More specifically speaking: most people (myself included) usually don't play as Canon characters, BUT it would be a nice touch if we were permitted to temporarily get our hands on a Canon character for story advancement purposes in an adventure.
Example:
your OC character is friends with Inuyasha's group due to a past encounter (described in your character's history). In an adventure, you face a demonic barrier around a castle so you (and the other roleplayers) agree to seek out Inuyasha and ask him to un-make the barrier. Inuyasha eagerly helps because there might be shards of the Holy Jewel involved.
At this part, one of the roleplayers will take control of Inuyasha and RP with his/her own OC character AND Inuyasha at the same time, until Inuyasha's part in the adventure ends.
Since assigning Canon characters to one specific forumer can be fairly confusing and backsetting at times, I believe it would be a reasonable request to use Canon characters like this, don't you think ?
2. Can our OC characters bring several NPC-s with them into the adventure ?
Example: let's say my OC characters is a leader of a group of bandits. It would make sense to bring the aforementioned bandits along with him/her into the fray, right ?
This is an especially vital factor for human characters (as humans are generally weaker than demons and half-demons). It would make sense for them to bring some comrades-at-arms along. It wouldn't upset the balance too much, most of them will likely get butchered in the adventure anyway.
3. What is "the plot" mentioned in one of the posts ? Will it be 'enforced' in any matter ?
I, for one, am against plotlines laid down by others in an RP site. Everyone should be allowed to have their own storylines without being limited by anything more than gameplay balance and/or Canon material.
Some adventures related to the same plotline and open for the general public would be suitable though...
4. Can we use swear words in adventures to a limited extent, or are swear words forbidden entirely ?
Swear words are parts of our lives and as such are indirectly parts of our characters' personalities as well. It's not like we're going to make entire dialogues up from swearing alone... sometimes swear words improve the atmosphere of the adventure or help set a character's personality.
Then again if we want to keep the site child-friendly, we can always resort to typing **** instead of... well, you know ;D
